First time buyers in Lincolnshire looking to take that first step on the property ladder should make their way to Marston Park in Long Sutton, where six of the nine new homes being built here are available under the Government-backed FirstBuy Scheme.
Located on Lime Walk, this brand new development by Westleigh New Homes will offer a selection of high quality period style homes with those available through FirstBuy being two-bedroom properties and three-bedroom family homes with en-suite shower rooms.
Under FirstBuy, buyers will be offered a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of the property, jointly funded by Westleigh New Homes and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). The buyers then have to find the remaining 80 per cent of the price themselves. Up to 76 per cent of this could be a mortgage, leaving a deposit of just four per cent.
This means that purchasers could initially buy a new three-bedroom Elmscott-style home at Marston Park, normally priced at £134,950, with a deposit of just £5,400 and with a mortgage of just £102,560.
Robert Orr, from Leicester-based Westleigh New Homes, comments, “We are delighted to offer FirstBuy to new homeowners at our Marston Park development in Long Sutton. It’s a fantastic scheme that aims to make home ownership more affordable as it allows you to buy a new home for a fraction of the price and with the lowest possible deposit.
“Many people will be eligible to take advantage of FirstBuy including any household with a combined income of up to £60,000 is eligible - so I would urge anyone interested to contact us as soon as possible. However, our FirstBuy allocation is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis only. So don’t miss out on the chance to take advantage of the scheme.”
The three remaining homes being built at Marston are four bedroom detached houses with extensive accommodation for larger families. Each property will be finished to the highest specification with a choice of modern kitchens and worktops along with stainless steel appliances. The development also provides purchasers with the perfect combination of rural living combined with the convenience of facilities in Long Sutton and proximity to the nearby towns of Holbeach and Wisbech.
Named amongst the best kept villages in Lincolnshire, Long Sutton is known for its floral displays that decorate the area throughout spring and summer. It is centred around an attractive period street, named Market Place, which forms the main shopping hub and includes local retailers, service providers and a host of places to eat and drink. There is also a thriving market every Friday.
